Okay... I tried to be lenient and patient and laid back this summer... but I'm not going to be able to do ANY of that if these damn wars keep going. So listen up and listen up good. I will not repeat myself. - There are to be NO more shipper related clubs or recurring threads (and by that I mean daily/weekly/monthly/etc. threads, one-time threads are not breaking the rules). - There will be NO more of the harmless, yet space-wasting posts like "Oh my god! Spike is so cute!" For any existing character. (Exceptions will be made for new recurring/guest stars after an episode has aired. But in a "one thread only" kind of sense.) It's wonderful if you think they're hot, but let's face it, pretty much the entire cast is hot. We don't need to take up board space to announce it. We know. Let's *discuss* something more meaningful. --- On behalf of myself and any other board cleaners, I reserve the right to delete excessive shipper posts. If there's already a B/S discussion thread on the board, discuss your views there. We don't need a billion threads on similar topics. CHECK THE BOARD FIRST! If another thread inspires your topic, REPLY! If things get too out of hand, I will start limiting threads dedicated to ships to ONE thread PER SHIP on the board at a time. If you don't want that to happen, respect this rule and tone it down. From this point on, shipper posts are a privilege which can and will be taken away if abused. Don't abuse it and we won't have a problem. --- There will be absolutely NO, and I mean NO tolerance from this point on for the slightest hint of trash talking directed at any one poster, group of posters, shippers, etc. If you want to talk about a ship or a character, talk about IT/HIM/HER, leave the other ships/characters the hell out of it! It's beyond unnecessary to point out that you want to talk about one ship/character and then insult fans of ANOTHER group of fans. Even mildly. I don't want to hear any of it. No, "You're stupid for liking that ship!" or even no "You're wrong for supporting them!" Everyone has their own views and they're entitled to express them KINDLY. If you don't agree, find a way to disagree KINDLY or put a sock in it. Although I mean this for ANY shipper of ANY ship, I'm specifically referring to the constant bickering between B/Xers and B/Sers. I know the vast majority of you on both sides are perfectly wonderful posters and great contributors to the board who can get along with people of any ship regardless of the characters involved. I appreciate, admire and welcome that completely. But... for those of you who *can't* get along with those of opposing ships... Some words of advice: STAY AWAY FROM PEOPLE YOU DON'T GET ALONG WITH! *I* know who you are, you know who you are, and I and don't need to name names. So either find a way to get along with your fellow posters (even if that means staying away from them) regardless of their shipper preferences or get out of here. --- No more calling fans: delusional, wrong, immoral, crazy, loony, sick, a bigot, rapist supporter, racist (not so much color of skin as vampire/demon), or any other insulting terms because of a person's ship/character preference. Who the hell cares who likes what ship? You like your ships, let everyone else like whatever the hell they want. If you have to even mildly trash talk another ship to get your point across, as far as I'm concerned, you HAVE NO POINT. Don't tell someone they're *wrong* because they don't agree with you. -- Spike's actions in "Seeing Red" were not rape. It was *attempted* rape. Refer to it as such if you're going to use the term "rape." --- I don't give a damn if you're tired of seeing thread after thread on the same ship. You want a change, CHANGE IT! Quit whining about the lack of diversity on the board and start introducing something diverse! I told you many times, if you want to have a discussion thread about something but don't want to hear discussion about a certain character or ship, just bloody well say something in your subject line. Don't wanna talk about Spike? Fine. Put "No Spike" in your subject. That's all. No need to add, "Spike's a murdering rapist, he shouldn't be talked about!" in your message. In fact, as of this point, I will, whenever I feel like it, delete ANY kind of whining/bitching/complaining about the fact that a post wasn't deleted. If I didn't get an e-mail from you or see you point out the post for it's rule-breaking, it would be a wise idea not to whine. It's quickly becoming my worst pet peeve and as if this thread wasn't enough to prove that I'm already on the edge of sanity... may I advise you that pushing me with the whining is *really* not a good idea. So, let's review: - No more recurring threads or board groups dedicated to ships. - No more "This person is so cute!" threads for existing cast members/characters. - Board cleaners can and will delete excessive shipper-related threads as they feel necessary. (Issues with such should be taken up with AnGeL X, preferably off the board to preserve space.) - There will be no more tolerance of any kind for the slightest hint of insult directed at other fans for their views, specifically about ships. Name calling, insulting remarks at groups as a whole, and even the simple, "You are wrong because I am right" argument will NOT be accepted. - No more referring to Spike's actions in "Seeing Red" as "rape." It was *attempted* and not successful. Refer to it as "attempted rape" if that's your choice of words, otherwise find something else like "assault" or "attack." - QUIT WHINING! If there's too much B/S and Spike talk on the board... discuss something else instead of running off and complaining about it later. Your complaints about such matters will not be taken seriously. Post something else! - I'm sick to death of seeing people talk about how "This offensive post was allowed to stay, that's not fair!" If you don't report it, I don't want to hear from you about it *after* it's "been allowed to stay." Send an e-mail to me! Point out the post for goodness sakes! Your complaints will be ignored and deleted. Please make sure you read through all of that. I know it's long, but I'm very serious about it. This board *will* get whipped back into shape before the end of the summer. |
