Content Rules

The Buffy Cross & Stake Message boards are clean boards. I go to many extents to keep them that way. The main guideline is that all material must be appropriate for "Buffy" TV. If you won't see it on Buffy, you won't see it on my boards. However, if a topic is covered on Buffy even if it is considered not appropriate for all ages it can be discussed as long as it's not taken too far.

BOARD PURPOSE / TOPIC RESTRICTIONS: - During the season, topics can be Buffy or Angel related, but the board is also for OT posts and other general discussion, so there is no restriction that topics must remain only on Buffy or Angel. Doesn't mean topics can't all be On Topic, but it's not against the rules to post Off Topic. In the general flow of posts, language needs to always be Buffy appropriate. If a word cannot be said on Buffy, it can't be said on the board. The only exception to this rule is a post pre-approved by AnGeL X and with an appropriate topic/motivation that Buffy language may not be enough for. The posters of the General board are expected to be mature and not need their Board Mommy leaning over their shoulder smacking them on the wrist for every little thing they do. Posts and comments have and will continue to be allowed on slightly more adult-natured topics. OT posts of a completely ridiculous nature have and will continue to be allowed.

DOMINATING TOPICS / THEMES - Since the beginning of the board and throughout its existence, certain subjects and types of posts will occasionally take over the board. If you're seeing too many OT posts and you don't like OT posts... rather than complain about it, *POST SOMETHING* you do like. Post on topic. Post some artwork of fiction. I don't care. I cannot and will not jump in and start some new daily/weekly/monthly thread every time people think a certain type of post is taking over. Don't complain about....START NEW POSTS!

REPORT PROBLEMS! - If you see an offensive post, REPORT IT. E-mail AnGeL X and let her know there is a post on the board that offends you or insults you or another poster or bashes or flames the show or posters. Do not assume that the board cleaners will see it or that they are letting posts stay to satisfy some double standard or make the board a miserable place just for you. The assumption is an absolute insult to me (AnGeL X). I have way more problems to deal with from the spoiler board and life in general and the last thing I want to have to do is babysit this board and read every single word of every single post. So please do your part to help out!

CHAT - There is a chat room for you to go and chat in (not that anyone uses it anymore). Don't waste board space with one-liners or posts that say, "Anyone wanna chat?" I WILL delete posts that are just a waste of board space.

NOT A SPOILER BOARD! - This board is NOT for spoilers. It's for artwork, fiction, wallpapers, OT discussions, and all daily posts that are NOT related to spoilers. Spoilers are not forbidden though, there just needs to be a CLEAR warning of spoilers in the subject of every post (without the actual spoilers in the subject) that contains them or they will be deleted. Note that the Knights of Spoil-antium thread is for spoilers and should not be read by those not wishing to be spoiled. Discussions related to the show are of course welcome on this board. Aside from the daily posts that must be posted here, the UNSPOILED posters who frequent this board are welcome to start on topic discussions here. If you are a SPOILED poster, take your on topic discussions to the Spoilage board.

DON'T ABUSE HTML! - No abusing the privilege of HTML use. Do not excessively use HTML in the body of the post. (ie. fonts that are size 6+) Also DO NOT type in all caps. It's rude and completely unnecessary. Your post will be seen regardless.

NO FLAMES! - There is such a thing as constructive criticism and expressing your opinion without being rude. If you can't do this, then don't post on the board. I will not stand for fighting, or flaming of any kind on the board. I expect all posters to get along, or keep their distance. Flaming another regular poster will get severe action and could quickly get you kicked off the board. Act mature or go somewhere else. Flaming Defined.

NO BASHING - I do not tolerate bashing of characters, episodes, cast, crew, and especially fellow posters. If you can't express your negative opinion about one of the above in a constructive, yet mature way, then just don't. Don't say you "hate" something about the show, and be respectful of the opinions of other posters. You get what you give on this board. Also, no negative talk of other spoiler sites. Express your opinion kindly without insulting, mocking, purposely offending, being snarky with or overall just being a jerk. Bashing Defined

GETTING PERSONAL - As stated long ago in a Weekly Post, there is to be no discussion of the personal lives of posters unless the information comes directly from the poster it is about or the poster in question has given their permission for the information to be release. You are all also entitled to keep your sense of humor (gasp!). If you want to make jokes or mock someone in a light, no-offense-intended manner, make sure it's someone you are friends with and someone who can appreciate the humor, not take offense to it. Under no circumstances should you joke, mock, tease posters you do not know or do not get along well with.

DEAD TOPICS - should not be discussed AT ALL: The actor's personal lives are NOT for discussion. Unless one of the actors have made information about their personal life public, or appeared at a public event, no pictures, no articles, no nothing unless the star is the one openly offering the information to the public. DO NOT reveal the names of or addresses to sites or people where illegal material (scripts, sounds, video files, tapes, etc.) can be gotten. Post an e-mail address if you're requesting it, or offering it for others to contact you at. Discussion of James Marsters's age is an insolvable issue and a waste of board space. No posts about "songs" perfect for couples or characters. No more threads of any kind related to Religion. Politics is almost as sensitive a subject, but the subject will be allowed for subjects within reason and those that do not make issue out of party preferences. Political posts are subject to deletion at any time should the subject pose a threat of trouble. :)

REPLIES ARE NOT EVIL! You do not need to start a new post every time you want to say something. If you have something to add to a topic that is already being discussed on the first page of the board, then simply reply to it. Do not start a new thread just so your post will get noticed. It will get deleted. Starting several threads on the same topic will only make it repetive and eventually lead to the subject being declared dead!

PICK A NAME AND STICK WITH IT! - Please choose any ONE name that isn't already taken and stick with it. I have 4 boards to run and well over 500 posters that I need to be able to keep track of. You will get ONE warning about using multiple names before you are kicked off the board. I don't have tolerance for people trying to pretend multiple posters. Posting with a name is not difficult, and if you find it to be so, then no one is forcing you to post.

ARTWORK / FICTION / GOOD MORNING - Each poster is allowed 1 thread per day for wallpapers, artwork, and fiction, per day. If you have more than one graphic or story to post in a day, then please post them all together in the new thread, OR, post the additional stories/images as replies to your original thread. Multiple threads will be deleted. (All fiction must be clearly RATED and no content that cannot be said or done on the show itself.) Only ONE Good Morning post, posted no earlier than 5:30am. EST. (If there is a significant time difference between your country and the Americas, you can post a second GM post for other countries of the world.)

ARTWORK / PICTURE CONTENT - **ANY** depiction of violence/sex in art (via screen captures, wallpapers, etc.) needs to be accompanied by a CLEAR WARNING in the subject line if not also in the message box. If the scenes appear on screen of a Buffy episode, they are fair game as long as they are not in violation of dead topics or board rules. Anyone who choses to view the artwork after reading the warning waives the right to publically complain about the nature of the art. If you think the material is just beyond innapropriate for the board even with the warning, please contact me, AnGeL X, PRIVATELY by e-mail (aglx@aol.com) or IM (aglx). This rule does NOT apply to images that are altered from their original non-violent state to depict violence. For example, you can't take a picture of Spike in vamp mode and change it to make it look like he's killing Buffy. In such a case, you create the violence and that will NOT be allowed.

FICTION CONTENT - This also applies to Fiction. **ANY** depiction of violence/sex in fiction must also comply with the new clear rules. If you wish to write a story about a scene of violence/sex already occuring in the episode you can do that with great restraint. I consider the written word to be much more graphic sometimes than a visual and while a scene could be considered bad on TV, it could be 100 times worse with written details. If your fiction is CLEARLY PG-13 rated and the descriptions are not so graphic to be considered offensive in the slightest, then you are welcome to post your fic. However, if you have the slightest of doubts about the nature of your story and whether it is too graphic for the board, please e-mail it to me first for review. Again, if you depict any kind of violence or sexual material, regardless of whether it appears in an episode or not...a WARNING MUST BE CLEARLY PROVIDED!

WARNINGS IN SUBJECTS - Should there be a WARNING in a subject line about the content of a post and whether it may be offensive, contain language not suitable for all ages, violent or sexual content for a piece of artwork or story, *YOU* take full responsibility for whether or not you are offended by the content should you cross that barrier and read the post or view the contents inside. *YOU* made the decision despite the warning, *YOU* are responsible. You don't get to complain. If a post is posted with such material, it should have been approved by AnGeL X first or the warning is against PG-13 rated violence/sexual content in a story or piece of artwork. If it hasn't been approved or meet the guidelines, it will most likely be removed by her or another board cleaner.

RANTS (OT AND OTHERWISE) - The support system that is the board is very important to most, if not all of the posters here. I will not be taking that away regardless of any dislike of rants and OT posts. Rants are allowed as long as they are for something of a substantial nature. Just be sure to put the word "RANT" in your subject line. No new threads to say, "I got a papercut" or "I did bad on a test!" Reply to existing threads if you need to post stuff like that. As with the content warnings mentioned above, if someone doesn't want to read a rant, they don't have to read your post. Simple as that. If something tragic or dramatic is going on in your life like health issues, loss of family, etc., and you need the support of your board friends, you are more than welcome to use the board to do so. Again, no new threads for the purpose of minor things like a horrible day or a failed test. All other posters are expected to be respectful and if support is clearly what is needed by a poster, there shouldn't be anything *but* support in the replies. No snark, no "Why are you complaining?", nothing. Be supportive or don't respond.

If you follow these rules and don't cause any trouble, you'll fit right in. My only intention is to keep a fun and enjoyable environment on the boards while trying to make everyone happy. If you have a complaint about how the board is run, please take it up with me.
