REGULARS
Of course you've heard of them, and you've seen their posts.
You've maybe even read about them in our fictions.
They're the Regulars of the Buffy Cross & Stake Boards.
But what is a "regular" and how does one become one?
A regular is simply a regular poster on one of the Buffy Cross & Stake Boards.
Anyone can be a regular, but you have to earn it.
Regulars...
- Follow all board rules.
- Post on a regular basis on the board.
Simple as that. Of course, the board rules explain a bit more on what one has
to do to become a regular, but the board rules are not that hard to follow. I,
the Board Momma, intend to keep my boards clean and peaceful places, and in
some cases that means having rules that not everyone agrees with. I assure you
though, they're not there just because I can make up whatever rules I want. They're
there because without rules, the board would be in utter chaos.
To become a regular...
You must post *appropriate* posts on the topic of "Buffy" (preferably on "Buffy" spoilers for the Spoiler Board) for at least 5 days. Depending on how much you post during those 5 days will determine how long before I add you to the regular list. Now, being a regular isn't like winning the Nobel prize or the lottery or anything. However, regulars are entitled to become members of our board clubs where non-regulars cannot.
Regulars are chosen by one person, and one person only, me, AnGeL X. You cannot just ask to be a regular and then "poof" you are. You have to earn it. When I feel I can trust you as a poster, you've earned it. If I can't trust you, you're not going to be a regular. Just post following the rules and on the topic of "Buffy" and you'll eventually earn your Regular status. (A little known secret: I check for new regulars by surfing through all the pages of the message board. If I see your name appear multiple times on each page of 50 posts, and none of the posts you posted were a problem, or had to be deleted for one reason or another, I'll add you.)
For some odd reason, many people are dying to be Regulars of the board. Not that it isn't flattering, but you cannot just show up and post once a week every few weeks and expect to earn regular status. The Regulars are "Regulars" for a reason. If you look around the board you'll see so many people that join into every discussion, follow the rules and get along with the other posters. Posting once in a while does not make you a regular. So please, instead of begging to be a regular, just post a lot and you'll actually *earn* your status.
Regulars do NOT...
Post flames of any kind directed at posters, episodes, cast, crew, or the show in general.
Post anything with language that cannot be said on Buffy. (The board rule is that you are allowed to use only the bad language that can be said on Buffy.)
Post OT (Off Topic [of Buffy]) post, all the time. One of the perks of being a regular is that you get away with a few things that a new poster would not. Once you earn my trust and respect as a poster, I do not mind the occational OT posts, or occational slip-ups.
