Weekly Notes from the Board Momma - 6/3/02
Today is the start of Summer Rules. The points of Summer Rules?
- To have fun.
- To get to know each other better.
- To get through the long summer without new eps!
Now, the change in rules may not seem like much. And when everyone (and you *better* do this) reads through the rules again, you'll see they've actually gotten longer. The additions aren't so much rules as just common sense that seems to need to be put in writing. So, really, the rules aren't longer. I did this because my patience was running completely out with the constant need to remind people of a few basic things. You know, crazy stuff like being a FAN before coming to this board and not carrying on conversations with BAZOARS trying to cause trouble. Stuff none of you have any problem with remembering, right? But now anyone new stumbling on the board can't have the excuse that they don't know the rules. And none of you can either. :)
In actuality, summer rules really are very lax, especially for regulars who put in a solid effort to contribute to the board in an on-topic way throughout the season. Woo Hoo, rewards for you! I still expect you to be kind and respectful to each other and of course, be fans of the show, but I won't be on everyone's case as much. Better for all of you and better for me too.
During the summer, we usually lose a few people who go away and come back next season...and some who don't come back. I don't remove people from the regular list if they're gone the whole summer (Or for years, really...) but I also don't add many people to the list. We sometimes get a lot of new posters, but I try to use the summer as a time to bring the current posters together more. And with as many regulars as there are now, that's more necessary than ever. I will still be adding people, just not as often.
Everything has been ever-so-hectic these past couple of weeks and this week is no exception. This next weekend marks the beginning of the board's big birthday bash. Sarah's all over the media and everything's going to be crazy around here. I know the people who have been posting around a while and even if I don't get around to a regular update soon, if you've been a responsible poster so far and have been posting for a while, you won't be denied the luxuries of the regulars during this summer time. So just gimme a break and make sure you've notified me that you're not a regular yet, if you think you've earned it. That's the only way to guarantee I won't miss you.
